Weekend Wins for Mortonhall Golf Club
Congratulations again to Mortonhall winning the 15th Annual Inter Cities Cup Final at Pollok on Sunday 13th October against Haggs Catle. It was the teams 2nd appearance in the last 3 years. Mortonhall took an early 2-0 lead as Greg Nicolson and Alex Main won the top 2 ties 5/4 and 2/1 respectively. Matches 3,4,5 were very tight all going down the 18th. Haggs Castle won all 3 to take a 3-2 lead. That was the end of Haggs Castle’s contribution however. Games 6, 7, 8 & 9 all resulted in good wins for Mortonhall. The last 2 victories turned a very close match into a clear 6-3 victory for Mortonhall who secured their 2nd Inter Cities Cup win in 3 years. An outstanding performance.
Congratulations also to Karen Fergusson-Sneddon, who won the East of Scotland Championship at North Berwick on Sunday 13th October. Well done Karen!
